1: \begin{abstract}

2: The main challenge in the analysis of numerical schemes for the

3: Zakharov system originates from the presence of derivatives in the

4: nonlinearity. In this paper a new trigonometric time-integration

5: scheme for the Zakharov system is constructed and convergence is

6: proved.  The time-step restriction is independent from a spatial

7: discretization. Numerical experiments confirm the findings.
