2: This document provides a proof that the solutions to the

3: convectively filtered Burgers equation, will converge to the entropy

4: solution of the inviscid Burgers equation when certain restrictions

5: are put on the initial conditions.  It does so by first establishing

6: convergence to a weak solution of the inviscid Burgers equation and

7: then showing that the weak solution is the entropy solution.  Then

8: the results are extended to encompass more general initial

9: conditions.
