2: We investigate contributions of giant gravitons

3: to the superconformal index.

4: We concentrate on coincident giant gravitons

5: wrapped around a single cycle,

6: and each contribution

7: is

8: obtained by a certain variable change for fugacities from

9: the index of the worldvolume theory on the

10: giant gravitons.

11: Because we treat the index as a series

12: of fugacities and

13: the variable change relates different

14: convergence regions,

15: we need an analytic continuation

16: before summing up such contributions.

17: We propose a systematic prescription for the continuation.

18: Although our argument is based on

19: some unproved assumptions,

20: it passes non-trivial numerical

21: checks for some examples.

22: With the prescription we can calculate the indices of

23: the M5-brane theories from those of the

24: M2-brane theories, and vice versa.
