2: The central extension of the Thompson group  $T$ that arises in the 

3: quantized Teichm\"uller theory is 12 times the Euler class. 

4: This extension is obtained by taking a (partial) abelianization of the 

5: so-called braided Ptolemy-Thompson group introduced and 

6: studied in \cite{FK2}.  

7: We describe then the cyclic central extensions of $T$ by means of 

8: explicit presentations.
