1: \begin{abstract}

2: We give the exact construction of Riemannian (or stringy) instantons, 

3: which are classical solutions of $2d$ Yang-Mills theories 

4: that interpolate between initial and final string configurations.  

5: They satisfy the Hitchin equations with special boundary

6: conditions. For the case of $U(2)$ gauge group those equations can 

7: be written as the sinh-Gordon equation with a delta function source. 

8: Using techniques of integrable theories based on

9: the zero curvature conditions, we show that the solution is a condensate of

10: an infinite number of one-solitons with the same topological charge and

11: with all possible rapidities.
