2: The 1+1 $G$-cobordism category, with $G$ a finite group, is

3: important in the cons\-truction of $G$-topological field theories

4: which are completely determined by a $G$-Frobenius algebra, see

5: \cite{a10,turaev,kaufmann}. We give a description of the

6: classifying space of this category gene\-ra\-lizing the work presented by Ulrike Tillmann in

7: \cite{a3}. Moreover, we compute the connected components and the fundamental group of this classifying space and we study %complete

8: the classifying spaces of some important subcategories.

9: Finally, we present some relations between the rank of the fundamental group of the $G$-cobordism category, with some related data as the number of (abelian) subgroups of the group $G$.
