2:   We study realizations of root systems in possibly degenerate

3:   symplectic vector spaces over finite fields, up to symplectic isomorphisms.

4:   The main result

5:   of this paper is the classification of such realizations for the field

6:   $\F_2$. Thereby, each root system requires a specific degree of degeneracy of

7:   the symplectic vector space. Our main  motivation for this paper is, that for

8:   each such realization of a root system we can construct a Nichols algebra

9:   over a nonabelian group.
