2: The unipotent groups are an important class of algebraic groups.

3: We show that techniques used to compute with finitely generated nilpotent groups 

4: carry over to unipotent groups.

5: We concentrate particularly on the maximal unipotent subgroup of a 

6: split reductive group and show how this improves computation in the

7: reductive group itself.
