2: In the finite-temperature Yang-Mills theory we calculate the

3: functional determinant for fermions in the fundamental

4: representation of $SU(N)$ gauge group in the background of an

5: instanton with non-trivial holonomy at spatial infinity. This

6: object, called the Kraan--van Baal -- Lee--Lu caloron, can be viewed

7: as composed of N Bogomolny--Prasad--Sommerfeld monopoles (or dyons).

8: We compute analytically two leading terms of the fermionic

9: determinant at large separations.
