2: The exact spectrum  of the Rabi hamiltonian

3: is analytically found for arbitrary coupling strength and detuning.

4: I present a criterion for integrability of 

5: quantum systems containing

6: discrete degrees of freedom which shows that in this case 

7: a finite symmetry group may entail

8: integrability, even without the presence of conserved charges

9: beyond the hamiltonian itself.

10: Moreover, I introduce and solve a natural generalization of the Rabi

11: model

12: which has no symmetries and

13: is therefore probably the smallest non-integrable physical system.
