3: two perturbative schemes to sum the so-called folded diagrams are

4: critically reviewed in this work, with an emphasis on the

5: intruder state problem. The methods we study are the

6: approaches of Kuo and co-workers and Lee and Suzuki.

7: The suitability of the two schemes for shell-model

8: calculations is discussed.
