2: \noindent We develop the Inverse Scattering Transform (IST) method

3: for the Degasperis-Procesi equation. The spectral problem is an

4: $\mathfrak{sl}(3)$ Zakharov-Shabat problem with constant boundary

5: conditions and finite reduction group. The basic aspects of the

6: IST such as the construction of fundamental analytic solutions,

7: the formulation of a Riemann-Hilbert problem, and the

8: implementation of the dressing method are presented.
