2: We construct finite free resolutions of $\zz$ over $\zz\pi$, where

3: $\pi$ is the fundamental group of a surface distinct from $S^2$ and

4: $\rr P^2$, and define diagonal approximations for these

5: resolutions. We then proceed to give some possible applications that

6: come with the knowledge of those maps.
