2: The Lagrange mesh method is a very accurate and simple procedure to

3: compute eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of nonrelativistic and

4: semirelativistic Hamiltonians. We show here that it can be used

5: successfully to solve the equations of both the relativistic flux tube

6: model and the rotating string model, in the symmetric case.

7: Verifications of the convergence of the method are given.
