2: Inspired by the insightful article~\cite{ledoux_chaos_2012}, we revisit the

3: Nualart-Peccati-criterion~\cite{nualart_central_2005} (now known as the Fourth

4: Moment Theorem) from the

5: point of view of spectral theory of general Markov diffusion generators. We are

6: not only able to drastically simplify all of its previous proofs, but also to

7: provide new settings of diffusive generators (Laguerre, Jacobi) where such a

8: criterion holds. Convergence towards gamma and beta distributions under moment

9: conditions is also discussed.
