3: The notion of Fej\'er monotonicity has proven to be a fruitful concept in

4: fixed point theory and optimization. In this paper, we present

5: new conditions sufficient for convergence of Fej\'er monotone

6: sequences and we also provide applications to the study of

7: nonexpansive mappings. Various examples illustrate our results.
