2:   The frozen Gaussian approximation provides a highly efficient

3:   computational method for high frequency wave propagation. The

4:   derivation of the method is based on asymptotic analysis. In

5:   this paper, for general linear strictly hyperbolic system, we

6:   establish the rigorous convergence result for frozen Gaussian

7:   approximation. As a byproduct, higher order frozen Gaussian

8:   approximation is developed.
